NATIONAL MISSISSIPPI RIVER MUSEUM, AQUARIUM, AND GREAT RIVERS CENTER Dubuque, Iowa
Located on the shores of the “Big Muddy,” on the edge of Ice Harbor Park in downtown Dubuque, the National Mississippi River Museum and Great Rivers Center lures visitors to encounter beautiful river boats, enormous catfish, and the stories of famous “river people” like Mark Twain, Robert Fulton, and Louis Armstrong.
Prior to the museum's construction, ObjectIDEA worked with ConsultEcon (economic planners) to evaluate the potential to create a waterfront cultural attraction comprising the existing National Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium, and a new Great Rivers Hall of Fame and Gulf of Mexico Aquarium connected by a campus of river related experiences.
