MARTHA'S VINEYARD PRESERVATION TRUST Edgartown, Massachusetts
The Martha’s Vineyard Preservation Trust works to preserve, manage, and interpret twenty-five historic properties and buildings across the island. These properties are integral to the island’s culture, history, and sense of community. Their preservation and creative re-use are a vital driver in the understanding of Martha’s Vineyard’s heritage as a maritime center, religious destination, and vacation hotspot. The new Martha’s Vineyard Preservation Trust Heritage Center serves as an orientation place for visitors to the island, where they can learn about the island’s past, present, and future, the Trust’s role in that timeline, and the history of each of the properties that are still maintained around the island.
ObjectIDEA served as the interpretive planner and exhibit developer and worked with HER Design of Marblehead, MA and Brent Johnson Design of Boston, MA.
